Yesterday one of my friends asked me “How how do I remove a google account from my phone that I no need anymore. Is there any way I could remove gmail account from android phone?”
The question he asked to me was pretty simple and it made me think to write this post.
Because many people who own an android phone don’t know how to delete google account from the phone.

But before you do this you must know what would happen if you remove your Google account? And, how it affects your life?
- You can’t use the service such as Gmail to see your emails
- You won’t be able to access the data including records, photos or emails that is connected to your Google account
- Apps such as YouTube and others that are connected with Google Play won’t be accessible anymore
- The data you saved in Google Chrome would be lost

How to remove Gmail account from android phone?
Make sure you’re logged in as the correct user before disconnect google account if you you are using phone with multiple users.
Step 1. First head over to your phone setting and touch on the Accounts.
Step 2. Under “Accounts,” you’ll see multiple accounts liked to your phone touch the name of the account that you want to remove.
Step 3. Touch Google and then the account if you’re using a Google account.
Caution: When you remove your Google Account, all the email, contacts, drive, Google play, Calendar events, and other data associated with that account will no longer automatically sync with your device.
Step 4. Touch the Menu icon from the top right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Touch Remove account. You may get asked to enter your device’s pattern, PIN, or password as a security measure if it is the only Google account in your android phone. It happens ensures that only you or someone you trust is removing the account from your device.
Pro Tip – If your friend ask you to use your phone for few days. You don’t need to remove gmail account from android phone instead you can create a separate user space or temporary guest space for him.
